Cure with acupuncture

Akupunktur / Acupuncture

The first writings on acupuncture date back about 3000 years. Acupuncture was introduced into European medicine in the 17th century and is a treatment for chronic diseases and pain.

Whether by means of needles or laser, the effect is frequently startling. Even babies can be treated by laser acupuncture since this therapy is completely painless.

The mechanism of acupuncture is also explained by the fact that a stimulus on the surface of the body - the insertion of a needle into an acupuncture point or the application of the laser - produces a reflex effect inside the body or in another region of the body. These findings have been scientifically studied and clinically proven.

Exact information about and thus diagnosis of complaints is essential. This, in turn, requires that the practitioner devotes a great deal of time to the patient: what are the symptoms, where and how long have they persisted, and what are the outer and inner influences which caused them?

Acupuncture therapy is not only helpful for chronic illnesses and painful conditions, such as e.g. neuralgia, migraine, gastrointestinal diseases, chronic sinusitis and back pain, but is also successfully administered for labour pains.

In the same way, acupuncture is supportive in giving up smoking and loosing weight.

Originally, acupuncture treatment was performed only on a few body sites. Today we talk about meridians surrounding the body like a network - similar to the degrees of latitude and longitude covering the globe - where several hundreds of acupuncture points are found.

What is TCM?

Traditional Chinese medicine (in brief TCM) supplies information about the energetic condition of the meridians and thus of the patient by pulse and tongue diagnosis.

These diagnoses are the criterion for acupoint selection.

According to Chinese concepts, the disrupted energy flow in the organs is to be normalised in the sense of Yin and Yang.

Meanwhile, ear acupuncture has become an independent branch of acupuncture. In ear acupuncture, one has to imagine the entire body projected onto the ear, as with reflexology and feet. Every organ and many disturbances may be treated.

However, Chinese medicine does more than help if pain already exists. It prevents diseases in the same way as our preventative medicine. Due to the early recognition of even minor indispositions, diseases can be prevented from occurring.

Acupuncture may also be used for panic attacks and anxiety disorders.
